Our Story
From Maui
to Texas.
In 2023, I co-founded NanoNest with Robert Forrest Dell in Hawaii. That year, after the Lahaina fires, we were awarded a large contract to deliver temporary housing on Maui — a new company, chosen because we could execute immediately and had the production capacity to back it up.
We delivered, and we installed. Units arrived faster than the site infrastructure could keep pace with — an unusual problem in construction, and the one that defined this company. Phase one delivered 150 units. In 2025, we were awarded 150 more.
What I saw on Maui was what a factory can do that a job site cannot: precision, repeatability, and speed, in a design people actually want to walk into. And I kept thinking about Texas.
I'm based here, and Texas is building faster than almost anywhere in the country. Every project meets the same challenge — people need somewhere to work, sleep, meet, and operate.
That's the challenge NanoNest Texas closes. Our units are an elegant solution for the extraordinary range of projects underway across this state: the data centers rising outside Austin and San Antonio, the oil and gas operations across West Texas and the Permian, the film and production work drawing crews to locations without infrastructure. The same is true for the construction and energy projects that need offices and workforce housing on site before anything else can start, and for the hospitality developments, glamping resorts, and short-term rental operators building somewhere guests actually want to stay.
I spent more than two decades in oil and gas working on major capital projects, where schedule was the difference between a project that worked and one that didn't. I'm also a builder — I develop custom homes in Houston and Austin, so I know what conventional construction costs in time. A custom build runs about two years. A NanoNest unit is delivered in as little as 12 weeks.
